About this tool
A hash function compresses any input into a fixed-length fingerprint. Change one character and the digest changes completely, which is why hashes are used for integrity checks, cache keys and content addressing.
One paste produces every supported digest at once: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 and SHA3-224 through SHA3-512. Copy a single row, or take the whole list with labels.
- Ten algorithms side by side
- Per-row copy and copy-all
- Uppercase or lowercase output
- Calculated locally, no upload
Frequently asked questions
Which algorithms can I compare in one run?
MD5, SHA-1, the full SHA-2 family and all four common SHA-3 sizes are computed together from the same input.
Is MD5 acceptable for passwords?
No. MD5 is fast and unsalted, which makes it easy to attack. Use a dedicated password hashing function such as bcrypt, scrypt or Argon2 instead.
Can this page hash a file?
The input here is text. For files, use a local command such as sha256sum or certutil so the bytes are read directly from disk.
